Gun safety Instructor shoots himself in the foot

If you have or are looking to purchase a gun, you may have heard some safety tips regarding guns.  Additionally, gun safety is taught in schools, in an effort to educate children about the potential dangers of a gun.

This is a video of a gun safety instructor who, during the middle of his presentation, literally shoots himself in the foot.  Apparently, he does not abide by his own safety advice very well and could have been severely injured, or even killed himself or a student.

Stay Safe: Know the Gun Laws of Your State

    Last updated 2 years ago

When you make that gun purchase, you exercise not only your freedom, but also responsibility. Guns require a rather high range of maintenance—cleaning, ammunition, and protecting your guns with a gun safe are all important for your gun collection.

However, practicing your current state’s gun laws is not just a responsibility—it’s the law.  Whether you are for or against current legislation concerning gun policy in your state, it is your responsibility to obey the laws regardless.  Here are gun laws of just a few states, but make sure to keep up to date on your own state gun laws:

    • California

California’s gun laws allow for easier purchase of rifles and shotguns, because the state does not require a permit or registration.  Handguns, however, require registration whether you have purchased one or have moved from out of the state.

Those previously convicted of a felony may not own any sort of firearm, and certain misdemeanors will restrict firearm possession for ten years.

    • Illinois

In Illinois, whoever purchases a firearm must show their Firearms Owner’s Identification Card (FOID).  These are a few requirements for those looking to obtain this card:

    • Must be over 21.
    • Must have never been convicted of a felony.
    • Must be a citizen.

Without a FOID, it is unlawful to possess any sort of firearm.

    • Texas

Texas offers a relatively lenient gun policy, requiring only a permit to carry a handgun.  However, if the person looking to purchase a firearm intends to use it in an unlawful manner, it is illegal to sell the firearm to them.

If you are a gun owner and are looking for a quality gun safe to protect your gun collection, then please take a look at SteelWater Gun Safes.  Our gun safes feature digital locks and can store up to 45 long guns.  So please, take a look at us today for a quality gun safe which won’t let you down.

    The Bestselling Gun Safes

As a gun owner, owning a gun safe is one of the most important investments you can make for your gun collection.  Gun safes come in all shapes and sizes—but only quality gun safes can adequately protect against fires and from various methods of burglary.

So, it is important for you, as a gun owner, to be knowledgeable about the industry’s top gun safes.

The bestselling gun safes sell well for a reason—they are trusted above lesser quality safes.  Here are a few types and features of the bestselling safes, which are designed with safety and accessibility in mind:

    • Electronic and Digital Access Devices

Leading the pack as the most popular type of gun safe, these gun safes use keypads as the device of access.  Because these electric and digital locks are so tough to bypass, these make a safe, sensible solution for a gun safe.  Also, because you do not have to fool around with a mechanical lock, these safes provide easy access for your convenience.

    • The Deluxe Gun Safe

Offering plenty of room for your guns, and even some leftover for accessories, these gun safes offer the best in internal, as well as external, locking systems.   These safes are for the serious gun owner, who demands the best protection a safe can offer.

Protecting against burglary is only half of the purpose.  By adding material such as sheetrock, or even fiberglass, many gun safes offer some sort of fire protection.  Many popular safes feature fire protection, in the unfortunate event of a house fire.

If you are looking for a high quality gun safe which can offer you bestselling attributes, then please contact SteelWater Gun Safes.  We are committed to protecting your valuable gun collection, whether it is from fire or burglary.  So please contact us today for a gun safe which won’t let you down.

    5 Steps to Gun Safety

    Last updated 2 years ago

You may have heard someone say that proper gun safety is “using both hands.”  And this is true, but there are many other steps you should take in order to keep your family and your gun safe.

    1. Be sure to keep your gun unloaded until you are ready to use it.
      • This will prevent accidents resulting from negligence and the uneducated.  An unloaded weapon is about as dangerous as a TV remote control, while a loaded weapon is an accident waiting to happen.
      • Always be sure to empty the gun chamber when unloading the gun before placing it in a gunsafe.
    2. Keep your gun pointed in a safe direction.
      • A gun pointed away from people is a gun that will not fire towards people.  Exercise awareness at all times when handling a gun.  Since a gun will only fire toward what it is pointed at, be mindful.
      • Always keep the gun muzzle pointed away from animals, humans, and valuable property.
    3. Keep your finger off of the weapon’s trigger.
      • Rest your finger on the trigger guard when you are holding a gun, but not intending to fire it.
    4. Make sure to clean your gun on a regular basis, and check it for functionality.
      • If you are uncertain about how this is done, enlist the help of a professional. Take your gun to a local gun store and ask for assistance.
      • Make sure to unload the weapon before cleaning.
    5. Keep your guns in a high quality gun safe.
      • Gun safes should be locked at all times so that children and other unauthorized people cannot access the guns.
      • High quality gunsafes are high quality protection against gun accidents.
